Helsinki Cup in a nutshell

Anniversary excitement

In 2025, the Helsinki Cup will be held for the 50th time in a row, making it one of the world’s biggest youth football tournaments. The 50th anniversary will be celebrated in the summer 2025 tournament.

Even in challenging times, the Helsinki Cup tradition stays strong, showing how important the event is for many children and young players.

The 2024 tournament was the biggest in history, with 1,865 teams from 20 countries. There were a record 316 girls’ teams and 1,550 boys’ teams.

Sports for the entire city

The Helsinki Cup reflects throughout the city in July. In addition to the players, a large group of coaches, team staff, parents, and other supporters will arrive in Helsinki. The event is not just a football tournament; it is a community festival that brings the joy of sports and togetherness to every corner of the city.

A tournament that is an experience

While football has always been and will always be at the heart of our tournament, we have expanded our offerings.

Today, the Helsinki Cup is a comprehensive experience that includes much more than just matches. The tournament week features opening events with parades, as well as the diverse event square at the Love the Ball Center Käpylä. Additionally, the traditional Helsinki Cup festival brings the juniors together for an evening filled with music. This event, featuring top performers, is held in the middle of the tournament week as usual.
