MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC
OF FINLAND

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Cup. Born out of a love for football and a desire to promote sport and an active lifestyle among children and young people, this legendary tournament has been going strong for decades. The original goal has remained unchanged throughout the years and is as strong as ever.

In July 2025, Helsinki will once again become an international football arena. The tournament will bring together players, teams and staff from all over the world. Helsinki’s diverse facilities and the iconic Olympic Stadium will provide a fantastic setting for the event.

 In this anniversary year, particular emphasis will be placed on creating a supportive atmosphere and giving every player the courage to try. It is important to remember that all players are equally valuable, regardless of their skills, background or results. Fair play stems from respect for others, supporting your teammates and setting a good example. I hope to see this encouraging team spirit in every match of this 50th anniversary tournament.

I wish the players, the coaches, the players’ families, the team staff members and the organisers every success and, above all, hope they enjoy many memorable moments of camaraderie during the tournament week. The Helsinki Cup is more than just a tournament–it offers an experience that will last far beyond the final whistle.
