Matches celebrating the 50th anniversary of international junior football will be played on the stadium’s pitch from July 7th to 12th, 2025.

In July 2025, the Olympic Stadium will be the tournament field and the main venue for the finals of the Helsinki Cup event. The Helsinki Cup is one of the world’s largest football tournaments for children and youth, attracting players from over 20 countries. The iconic setting of the stadium also offers ideal facilities for the event’s side activities.

“Matches at the iconic Olympic Stadium have, based on feedback from previous years, been an unforgettable experience for both players and supporters. For this anniversary year, we are delighted to host games for various series on the stadium’s pitch once again. We aim to make the 50th tournament a unique celebration for all participants,” says Kirsi Kavanne, CEO of the Helsinki Cup.

“The Olympic Stadium will be the central hub of the entire tournament during this special anniversary year. The event office will be located at the Olympic Stadium, and team meals will also take place at the legendary venue. Of course, in addition to the stadium, the energy of the event will be felt on numerous other fields across the Helsinki metropolitan area,” Kavanne continues.

The Largest Helsinki Cup in History

The anniversary tournament is expected to have the largest number of participants in the event’s history. Approximately 200 matches will be played at the Olympic Stadium during the tournament days. The core values of the tournament include the joy of playing, friendship, and cultural exchange.

“The Olympic Stadium is a place for connections and unforgettable experiences, both on the field and in the stands. We are delighted that the Olympic Stadium can serve as the main stage for the Helsinki Cup’s anniversary year. Welcome to play and cheer at the stadium!” says Ari Kuokkanen, Director of the Olympic Stadium.
